Hans Wegner (1914 - 2007) is one of the most renowned Danish furniture designers. He is often referred to as “the master of the chair”. Combining simplicity and functionality with exquisite forms, his aesthetic legacy is unparalleled in Scandinavian design history. Wegner was part of the generation that created what is today referred to as the Golden Age of modern Danish design. To realise his now iconic pieces, Wegner frequently collaborated with the master cabinetmaker Johannes Hansen.
