Gustaf Axel Berg ran his own shop and workshop on Kungsgatan in central Stockholm between 1933 and 1944. His production was mostly on commission for offices in the 1930s and, as functionalism slowly gained recognition, also for private interiors in the late 1930s and 1940s. He was the first retailer to import Alvar Aalto's designs to Sweden. G. A. Berg's name is often associated to Swedish Modern.
G. A. Berg is represented in the Stockholm National Museum's permanent collection.
