Cabinet, anonymous,
Denmark, 1950s.

Oregon pine.

This charming piece is an exquisite example of Danish cabinetmaking. The visible corner joints and the stretcher’s through mortise and tenon joints show unparalleled craftsmanship. Scandinavian mid-century designers considered Oregon pine a superior wood because it has less imperfections and knots; it was cut from the long planks of trees from the Pacific Northwest.
