Evert Lindfors
1927 - 2016

Evert Lindfors grew up in Visby in modest circumstances in a family of seven children. He moved to Stockholm in 1946 and travelled with the artist Harry Moberg to France in 1947, where he studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. From the mid-1950s, he worked as a painter in Lacoste in Provence, France. Towards the end of the 1960s, he switched to terracotta sculpture. He met Torsten Renqvist in Paris in 1968 and the two of them subsequently worked together on sculpture. He was married to the painter Barbro Blomqvist-Lindfors (1930–2017) until his death and lived in Lacoste and on Djurö outside Stockholm.
