This piece was made famous by the Bramin case study house ‘Bass House’ or ‘#20B’, completed in 1958. This home was designed for Industrial and graphic designer Saul Bass and his wife, biochemist Dr. Ruth Bass. In the below images you can see the TV bench in the living room, and again by the pool, showing the versatility of the design. Bass was known for using these chairs directly on the ground, as pictured.
