This year at PAD London, we will bring forward notable highlights including:
- Rare PH 5/5 pendant with Axel Salto decoration, 1926
One of the most unusual lamps by Poul Henningsen, distinguished by a spiral motif painted by Axel Salto. Due to the high production costs, this model was discontinued after only a few years, making it exceptionally rare. The pendant reflects the creative partnership between Salto and Henningsen, whose collaborations spanned publications and exhibitions in the 1920s and 1930s.
- Finn Juhl’s unique dining table “FJ 44”, 1944
Among the most important pieces in Danish design history, this table was first shown at the Cabinetmakers’ Guild Exhibition in Copenhagen. Unlike most exhibition works, it remained in Juhl’s own home and formed part of his private collection with his first wife, Inge-Marie Skaarup.
- Anna Petrus’s “Hunting Tray” table, c.1922–25
An iconic example of Swedish Grace design. Crafted in Petrus’s Stockholm studio, the round tray table — known as Jaktbrickan — carries remarkable provenance, having been given as a wedding gift in 1927 to Gunnar Lyttkens and Dagmar Engström.
Modernity looks forward to welcoming collectors and design enthusiasts at PAD London 2025, where rare and significant pieces of Nordic design will be presented to the public for the first time in many years.
