Denmark. 1949.

Ash, cane and silk.

This rare set of model PJ 149 chairs is from the very early first two years of production of this model. This is made apparent from the use of an integrated cane seat that is woven as part of the ash frame. A couple of years later, the design choice was made to change this to a drop-in cane seat in order to make this easier to replace. Both chairs retain their original cane seat, which is remarkable given the year of production.
