H55, short for Helsingborgsutställningen 1955, was a major international exhibition of architecture, design, and craft held in Helsingborg, Sweden. Organised by the Swedish Society of Crafts and Design), the event marked a significant moment in the evolution of Swedish modernism, highlighting post-war optimism and a growing interest in functional, human-centred environments.


Barbro Nilsson (1899–1983) was one of Sweden’s most influential textile artists and weavers. Known for her masterful compositions and technical precision, she became artistic director of Märta Måås-Fjetterström AB in 1942, where she introduced the gobeläng flatweave technique.
