Set of three wall hung sideboards designed by Poul Nörreklit for Sigurd Hansen
Denmark, 1960s

Brazilian rosewood and steel.

Stamped.

Combining functionality with sophistication, this sizeable rosewood collectable from the 1960s consists of three hanging wall cabinets that together create one “floating” sideboard. Each unit has double doors with contrasting metal knobs and one sturdy shelf inside. Customers at the time could choose whether they wanted the piece with or without legs — this hanging version has the advantage of appearing less heavy and cleverly utilises a space without overwhelming it.

This specific piece belongs to a range Poul Nörreklit designed for Sigurd Hansen Möbelfabrik, a well-known Danish furniture manufacturer. The hanging mechanism on the back is well constructed and very secure.
