Side table designed by Jens Harald Quistgaard,
Denmark, 1950s.

Teak.

Exquisite woodwork and a beautifully shaped, removable tray surface that can function as a bowl characterise this Danish collectable. The sculptor Jens Harald Quistgaard worked with solid wood, often glueing cut blocks together before carving the individual components. He achieved the tray’s round motif by using various layers and multiple grain structures, making the piece both decorative and incredibly sturdy. For ultimate practicality, one side of the tray is curved inwards while the other is flat.
