Description:

This vintage furniture armchair is an elegant example of Otto Schulz’s sophisticated Swedish design language. Drawing on the classical Greek klismos and his own “Sulla” model, Schulz developed a generous, sculptural seat with a sweeping back that curves gently around the sitter. By dispensing with a loose seat cushion and instead shaping one deep, integrated seat, he achieved a remarkably pure and modern silhouette that stands out among vintage furniture pieces.

The armchair has been newly upholstered in a sumptuous bouclé, executed by one of Sweden’s finest upholsterers. The rich texture of the fabric accentuates the graceful contours of the frame and adds a sense of quiet luxury, while preserving the chair’s original character. Otto Schulz, founder of the influential firm and magazine Boet, was central to Nordic interior culture, and today this rare easy chair sits comfortably alongside the most sought-after Danish vintage design furniture within the broader Scandinavian modern canon.
