Description:

Pair of armchairs designed by Danish architect Palle Suenson for cabinetmaker Jacob Kjær, Denmark, circa 1948. These rare vintage Danish armchairs express the quiet luxury of Scandinavian design, with gently canted backs, finely sculpted arms and elegantly curved stretchers that reveal Suenson’s architectural eye for proportion. The frames are executed in richly grained hardwood, carefully finished to accentuate the natural depth and warmth of the wood.

Both armchairs retain their original patinated leather upholstery, finished with a brass nailhead trim that outlines the seat and back in a discreet decorative rhythm. The generous seat and upright backrest create a poised, comfortable sitting position, while the slender legs keep the silhouette visually light.
