Brass, white lacquered inner screen, body in wrapped leather.
This rare table lamp, model 15582, was produced by Arvid Böhlmarks Lampfabrik in Stockholm during the 1950s and represents an exquisite example of Swedish Modern lighting. Executed in brass with a white-lacquered inner shade and a stem wrapped in leather, the lamp bears the original Böhlmarks stamp and model number. Its sculptural silhouette and refined material palette embody the quiet sophistication that characterises mid-century Scandinavian design.
The lamp was created under the artistic leadership of Harald Notini, one of Sweden’s most influential lighting designers of the 20th century. When Notini joined Böhlmarks in 1916, he brought with him a forward-looking vision that guided the company from traditional historicist models into a modern and innovative vocabulary. His work spanned the spectrum from the delicate lines of Swedish Grace in the 1920s to the strict functionalism presented at the Stockholm Exhibition of 1930, ultimately culminating in the warm, materially rich aesthetic now associated with Swedish Modern of the 1940s and 50s.
This model reflects Notini’s ability to combine craftsmanship, modernity, and sculptural clarity, making it a sought-after piece within the field of collectible Scandinavian lighting.
Marked with Böhlmark's signature and model number 15582.
