Description:

A striking example of mid-century Scandinavian artistry, this “Colora” vase by Vicke Lindstrand (1904–1983)represents the timeless elegance of Swedish glass design. Handcrafted at Kosta glassworks and signed KOSTA 41673, this sculptural piece features deep blue undertones encapsulated within clear crystal glass, creating a fluid, organic interplay of light and color.

Lindstrand’s work at Kosta (1950–1973) marked one of the most celebrated eras in Swedish glass history. Known as Kostavicke, this period defined the essence of Scandinavian modernism, with softly sculptural forms, playful graphic lines, and a deep connection to natural elements. Each piece from this era reflects his mastery of form and color, qualities that made him a central figure in 20th-century Nordic design.

Renowned for his earlier creative phases Orreicke, Keramikvicke and Kostavicke, Lindstrand’s legacy continues to captivate collectors worldwide. His designs, from the iconic engraved vases The Pearl Fisherman and The Shark Killer to experimental color-layered works like the “Colora” series, remain highly sought after at international auctions.

This vase stands as a museum-quality example of Swedish art glass, perfect for discerning collectors and admirers of modern design.
