Description:

For more than thirty years, Bente Brosbøl Hansen has been creating both functional and artistic ceramics in porcelain and stoneware in her workshop near Söderåsen. From small pieces to large, everything she makes is hand-thrown on the wheel. With geometric decorations and intricate patterns, her works become exquisite and unique. After many years of designing patterns, she has developed a deep understanding of how they work. The shape of the vessel determines which pattern she chooses. Some of the designs are thousands of years old: Islamic, Japanese, and early mosaic motifs.

This particular piece exemplifies Bente Brosbøl Hansen’s meticulous craftsmanship and eye for pattern. Hand-thrown and decorated with an intricate geometric motif in contrasting tones, the vase showcases both her technical precision and artistic sensibility. The rhythmic, almost optical design draws on historical influences while feeling distinctly contemporary, making it a striking example of her timeless ceramic artistry.
